| Biography: |
American heavy metal and doom metal band Grief from Boston, Massachusetts, was formed in 1991. The band comprised Jeff Hayward, Eric C. Harrison, John Heidenrich and Ray McCaffrey. The band was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Eyehategod and doom warriors Saint Vitus. Grief gained popularity in 1993 with their album, Dismal, which you may download in mp3 from our site. Their following albums were Come to Grief (1994), Miserably Ever After (1996), Torso (1998). In 2000, the band released their last album, ...And Man Will Become the Hunted. They broke up in 2001. The group reunited for one show at the first annual New England Grind And Doom Fest on July 17, 2005 at The Middle East Cafe in Cambridge, MA. They were so excited by the response to this show that they began booking others, and they toured intermittently throughout 2005 and 2006. The band's final appearance was at Emissions from the Monolith 8, a sludge/doom festival that took place in Ohio, May 2006. Grief disbanded in March 2009.
