| Biography: |
Arabesque was a German female disco group formed in Frankfurt, Germany in 1977. The group was formed at the studio of the then-famous disco producer Frank Farian. The group’s line-up changed and after the debut failed album the group members were Michaela Rose, Jasmin Vetter and Sandra Lauer. The group broke up in 1984. Sandra continued successful solo career and featured the project Enigma at the beginning of 1990s. Sandra was unofficial group’s front woman as she was a lead vocalist on the vast majority of the songs. The band was extremely popular in Japan and in USSR. Their popularity in Europe raised after the single “Marigot Bay” but couldn’t reach the Japanese level. Some other popular band’s songs are “Hello, Mr. Monkey”, “In For a Penny, In For a Pound”, “Why No Reply”, “Time To Say Goodbye” and some others.
