| Biography: |
English death and doom metal, alternative rock, atmospheric rock and progressive rock band Anathema from Liverpool was formed in 1990. The band current line-up consists of Vincent Cavanagh (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar), Daniel Cavanagh (lead guitar, vocals), Les Smith (keyboards), Jamie Cavanagh (bass), John Douglas (drums) and Lee Douglas (vocals). They emerged on the British metal scene in the early 1990s with their first demo record entitled Crusadors Of Damnation. Later, they produced more several demos such as All Faith Is Lost and An Illiad Of Woes. They achieved mainstream success in the middle 1990s with their breakthrough album, Eternity, which spawned the band's most popular singles including "Hope", "Suicide Veil", "Radiance" and "Far Away".
