Biography: Alizée Jacotey, known as Alizée is a French pop singer born on August 21, 1984 in Ajaccio, Corsica, France. She rose to fame in 1999 when she won the song contest Graines de Star. Mylene Farmer, a French pop diva, discovered her and helped to released her first two albums out of three. Alizée collaborated with Mylene Farmer who wrote the lyrics and with Laurent Boutonnat who composed the melodies for the songs. The debut album Gourmandises was released in 2000 and propelled Alizée to the stardom. The album was certified Platinum and gained the popularity not only in France but abroad as well. The album was released internationally in 2001 and Alizée became the best-selling French artist abroad.
