Canadian pop, alternative and world music musician and singer-songwriter Alexz Johnson was born on November 4, 1986, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. As a child, she started singing and playing various musical instruments. She also participated in school's plays and different local contests. She achieved initial success as a young singer of the National Anthem at games such as the NHL team Vancouver Canucks and the NBA team Vancouver Grizzlies. She gained popularity in 2005 with her breakthrough debut studio album, Songs from Instant Star, which produced several hit singles including "24 Hours", "Criminal", "It Could Be You", "I'm in Love with My Guitar", "Let Me Fall" and "Me Out of Me".
