Biography: Alan Daniel Maman (known as Alchemist) was born on October 14, 1975 in Beverly Hills, California, USA. He is a hip-hop producer and emcee. He became prominent in late 90s collaborating with Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep hailing as one of the leading producers of the genre. He remixed songs for Linkin Park and Morcheeba and produced many artists like Nas, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Ghostface Killah and Snoop Dogg. In 2004 he released his debut album 1st Infantry which spawned the hit single "Hold You Down" (featuring Prodigy, Illa Ghee and Nina Sky). In 2007 he released an album collaborating with Prodigy, titled Return of the Mac. The last Alchemist’s work Chemical Warfare (2009) is available to download in mp3 from our site. He has also two new projects, they are Gangrene and Stepbrothers. During his career he has released numerous singles with various artists.
