Biography: American alternative rock and jangle pop band 10,000 Maniacs was formed in 1981, in Jamestown, New York. The band comprises Jerry Augustyniak, Dennis Drew, Jeff Erickson, Steve Gustafson and Mary Ramsey. Originally it was formed as Still Life in Jamestown, New York, by Dennis Drew (keyboards), Steve Gustafson (bass), Chet Cardinale (drums), Robert Buck (guitar), and Terry Newhouse (Buck's ex-wife and vocalist). The band achieved mainstream success with the album, In My Tribe (1987), which produced two singles, "Peace Train" and "What's the Matter Here".
